Notice of Mailing of Combined Assessment & Tax Notices

Notice is hereby given that the combined assessment and tax notices for the 2017 tax year were mailed on May 1, 2017 and will be payable on or before August 15, 2017.

Please make remittance payable to Birch Hills County by cheque, bank draft, money order, treasury voucher or by currency. Payments may also be submitted at participating banks. Customers of ATB, Scotia Bank, CIBC, Credit Union, BMO or TD Trust may contact their branch for information regarding the online payment of taxes. All remittances must be payable at par. Postdated cheques will be accepted if dated prior to the due date. The post mark will determine the date of payment. Mailed payments must be postmarked no later than August 15, 2017. Credit card payments will not be accepted.

If you disagree with any of the assessment information on your notice, inquiries may be made to the Birch Hills County Assessor Mike Gagnon at 780-624-0013 during normal working hours prior to June 30, 2017. After hours appointments can be arranged if necessary. An interview with the Assessor may save the cost of the complaint fee.

Appeals to the Clerk of the Assessment Review Board must be submitted, accompanied by the appropriate fee and forms, by 4:30 p.m. June 30, 2017.

Penalties will be added after August 15, 2017 at 2%; September 15, 2017 at 4%; and November 15, 2017 at 4%.

Notices are deemed to have been received 7 days after mailing.
