With the recent announcement that Capital Power and Ontario Power Generation that they are assessing the use of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) in Alberta, Council felt that it would help to learn about this new-to-Alberta technology and has arranged for some independent experts to share their knowledge with you and answer any questions that you may have.

11:15 – 12:00 Nuclear 101, Professor Arthur Situm, Canada Research Chair in SMR Safety and Licensing, University of Regina.

1:15 -2:00 Nuclear Power and the Environment, Larissa Shasko former leader of the Saskatchewan Green Party, now studying nuclear engagement at the Johnson -Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy.
