Proposed Land Use Bylaw Amendments

Council is considering changes to the Land Use Bylaw #2024-01, incorporating feedback from a public meeting held on April 10^th, 2025, in Watino and to address proposed changes to the provincial flood mapping, as well as to strengthen requirements for large Wind and Solar developments.  A new provision to incorporate Small Modular Reactors as a Discretionary Use within the Agriculture District will also be considered.  Council is hosting a Public Hearing during the Regular Council meeting scheduled for October 14^th @ 9:15am in the Birch Hills County Council Chambers.  More information and the draft bylaw can be found on our website at www.birchhillscounty.com/develpment or by contacting our development officer at development@birchhillscounty.com.  If you wish to provide written comments, in-person comments or are speaking for a group.
